Wheeeee our snow almost coincides! We had snow two weeks ago........
There IS snow forecast for tomorrow, but only at 400m above sea level (I'm about 200....)

I bet your snow is much more impressive than ours though! Thankful

It IS pretty cold though, currently 3.4 degrees outside (it's almost midnight here)
I broke my nosepiece thingy on my glasses the other day and I haven't found the super glue. So now it's slightly lopsided and the side of my nose itches.
'thul found another solution for that. 'thul superglued a couple of 1cm long strips of leather strap to the glasses. They are quite unnoticeable, stay put, and prevent that insatiable itching...
I drove to Townsville on Friday night, escorting a busload of Girl Guides (my daughter included) who were heading to a Jamboree of the Air camp and also transporting a carload of Army Cadets in my car (my eldest son included), to a weekend Section Competition. As soon as I got back, I had to head straight to the local hospital as my other son had been concussed during a game of rugby union that was part of an annual school competition. I then spent the rest of the night and next day in the hospital and following behind an ambulance to the ED of Townsville Hospital as he had suspected head injuries.

We returned home late last night (Saturday) with the all clear that there were no fractures but he's still experiencing some dramas. It was a long many hours, even in ED, and, worst of all, I had no book to keep me company Book ! To help me through the next time I have a child in hospital (it happens far too often for my liking!), I've decided I'm buying a Kindle after all, to keep in my car!!!
Did you mean to say "Jamboree on the air"?

'thul think that would make more sense, since that was here as well this weekend, but 'thul did not attend the local arrangement of that, due to work Saturday night and being a bit intoxicated on Friday night.
You're right there 'thul (in that it probably does make more sense with "on" Smiling !) but I think the terms are interchangeable, depending on location? While it actually IS officially Jamboree on the Air, as well as Jamboree on the Internet (JOTA/JOTI) on an international scale, it seems that many here in Australia, as far as I have experienced, tend to say it more often with "of".

The only reason that I can think of for this difference, is that we have 'Schools of the Air' or 'Schools of Distance Education' in operation here. As the Jamborees take the very same form as our School of the Air lessons (either radio, phone or internet-based lessons), I'm guessing we just use "of" in the same vein? I, for one, would find it very difficult to use "on'", for this very reason. To make things even more complicated, we use the term 'On-Air' when talking about the lessons eg "Don't forget you have On-Air with your teacher at 10:30"!!

Hmm...all very interesting, and not something I've ever thought about until you brought it up...Surrender!

Maybe a sheet of plastic or something similar could help though...hmm...I'm sure he'd love me "VERY OBTRUSIVELY" adding and removing it each time we changed places, especially in front of his mates Big Grin !

Well I know *I* loved that sort of embarrassing scene in front of my mates when I was a teenager ... Proud

Oh yeah I guess most cars DO have fabric seats... hmmmm you described it so graphically that I was seeing full leather interior! Hehehe gross!

Rabbits, grasshoppers...it's a full-time job keeping them away or fixing up/beginning again once the destruction has taken place. All a bit disheartening at times! *thinks of strawberries*

Yeah..... at least I don't seem to have much trouble with insects..... I guess the birds eat them all! At least it's not all bad.... I was fully prepared for the cherries to be attacked once FRUIT was on the tree, but I had on idea the tree would be attacked as soon as it showed flower buds! I still don't know what the culprit was..... would you believe I got up at dawn the next day to surveil the area!! I looked out that window 100 times that day and not once did anything look sideways at any of the fruit trees. I guess twice was enough and then they moved on..... I am pretty sure it must have been birds of some sort as it was fairly high up and the branches weren't broken or scratched up (a la possum)

Hmmm what got your strawberries?

Hey Joost got a new avatar!
I don't think I can stand the sight of another California roll for the rest of my life! I am so ashamed that I went to an all you can eat sushi place with two other people and we failed to even finish our monstrous order of sushi. A lot of the rolls were just California rolls with different types of fish and sauce put on top. Our curiosity got the better of us and we allowed one more order of a Mexican roll. Turns out it's just spicy tuna....in a California roll. We surrendered and ended up having to sneak off some leftover pieces wrapped in napkins in our jackets (because none of us had any purses/vases/potted plants, etc.) and threw em out in the bathroom because we didn't want to get charged for leftovers Surrender

So next time you're in an all you can eat place...be sure to order lots of napkins, just in case.

The sushi was quite good, though. However, any more rice on it and it'd be Vegas-sized sushi.
Hmmm charged for leftovers? What's that about?
The mind boggles!

Happening in my world:
Planted some more potatoes (cunningly hidden under rocks to prevent being dug up)
Tiny plums are forming on our plum tree! No idea how that's happened as its pollination partner did not flower.......
Beautiful Spring weather
It was an all you can eat dinner, meaning you need to finish almost all you order or else you need to pay extra for leaving leftovers. We ordered a lot more than we thought we could finish, haha.
