^ Oh! I've just noticed that little 'edit' that you slipped in there, AR. On to RM...good stuff!
I'm mid-way through Andy McDermott's The Secret of Excalibur, after having just completed The Hunt for Atlantis and The Tomb of Hercules. While I am going to continue reading, and read the remainder of his books as well, AND I am enjoying the 'subjects' of the books eg Excalibur etc, I'm not overly enjoying the books themselves. The writing is too cinematic for me, like it's written with the idea that the books will all eventually end up as films or something or, at the very least, are trying too hard to compete with an action film-type script.
Not to mention that I can't stand the 'hero'...ugh!...there's just no word I can think of to describe him but, to give you an idea of my opinion of him, I think he has placed himself at the head of my 'most detestable character of all time' list!! Argh!
