His mother gave Prince [[Dutiful]]¬†[[the Cat]] and even after his misadventures Civil remained at his side and his close friend, much to the suspicion of [[Fitz]] and [[Chade]]. In truth, the [[Piebalds]]¬†were forcing his mother to keep Civil in the court, but the boys still formed a real friendship. In his times alone in his chambers at [[Buckkeep]] he indulges in [[Smoke]]¬†and plays a small pipe badly. Civil's Wit-companion is a cat called [[Pard]]. His life also was saved by Fitz (Tom Bagderlock) after the Piebalds turned against him
