Deadroot is swift and sure to kill in sufficient quantity, although at least two persons have been known to have survived it, among them [[Fitz]] who had sipped of the same wine as Rurisk.
Its first effects are spreading numbness in the mouth, followed by violent tremors and convulsions, swiftly followed by death.

The very few people who survive its full effects are usually left with life-long trembles and blurred vision, especially when otherwise already weary.
