The term for the leader of the tribes of the [[Mountain Kingdom]] who is considered a servant for his/her people and lives in [[Jhaampe]]. The tradition began with a wise woman who acted as a judge and settled disputes between the varying tribes of the mountains, and in doing so built the basis for the "kingdom.". The role of a Sacrifice covers all the aspects and needs of the Mountain folk, so the ruler might help to mend bridges as well as sacrifice their own life as a hostage during war. The Sacrifice's role is primarily that of serving the people. [[Kettricken]] takes her role as Sacrifice very seriously, and this sometimes puts her at odds with [[Six Duchies]] folk, especially in her early days as Queen-in-Waiting.
