Tradeford Castle
Tradeford Castle is in the city of Tradeford on the Vin River in Farrow.
Tradeford Castle has never been used as a fortress or a keep. It is situated on a low hill, and has a clear view of the river. It has a white-pebbled drive and there are gardens and ponds surrounding the mansion, as well as at least century-old oaks and willows. All this takes up more space than a good-sized farm. The castle does have stone walls and towers, but everything is elegant and decorated and there are no arrow slits. There are also walls between the building and the public road, but they are low and wide and overgrown with vegetation. A broad carriage way leads straight up to the great house. Anyone is free to enjoy the lower walks of the gardens freely. The crown of the hill is encircled by a low wall made of smooth-worked stone with several gates in it. The castle has a library of vellum books and scrolls, and a special room that houses brightly plumed birds and white marble ponds with water lilies and fishes.
