Trader robe

All the Old Trader families of Bingtown wear special Trader robes on important occasions, and especially when they want their position in the city to be recognised. Each family has their own colour that they are known for. The style of these robes has apparently stayed much the same over the generations, despite other changes in fashion. They have round necklines and are made of heavy materials (Cerise's is woollen). They come to about ankle length but can also be worn in the old seafarer style girted up to free the legs, although usually they are simply belted at the waist like a monk's robe. Malta has a wide black leather belt on hers, with a stylized initial that forms the buckle.

It is notable that when the members of the Bingtown Council meet, they change into all-white robes to indicate that they have temporarily surrendered family alliances for the greater good of their city and community. In these meetings, there are also order keepers who similarly wear black robes instead of their family colours.
