A [[Hunting cat]] breed [[Lord Grayling]] prefers, his family keeps six of them and they are supposedly of some of the best breeding lines. Unlike the smaller [[ealynex]], they can be breed as long as they can have it their own way with mating battles and harsh courtship and if no human has ever entered the enclosure where it happens. Previously all gruepards were brought from [[Chalced]] and the [[Sandsedge]] regions of [[Farrow]] with great expense and were quite rare.
The gruepard can take down game even the size of a young deer. They rely on their burst of speed to catch the prey before suffocating it. Their coats are tawny with very subdued dappling.
