Dutiful lives in [[Regal|Regal's]] former [[Regal's grand chambers|grand chambers]] in [[Buckkeep]] and keeps them simple and ascetic like his mother.
It is revealed that Dutiful has the [[Wit]] as well as the [[Skill]], something that caused him to be kidnapped by the [[Piebalds]]. He was bonded to a cat [[the Cat]] for a while, before she was killed by Fitz after trying to attack him. Fit zreturned to Buckkeep with him and began to instruct him in both of their shared magics.
Dutiful later married the [[Narcheska]] [[Elliania]], after going on a quest she issued (at the [[Pale Woman]]'s orders) to bring the head of [[Icefyre]], the dragon of [[Aslevjal]] to her hearth, which he acheived, although due to a certain chain of events it was still attached to his body, causing the loss of her home's door in the process.
