Like [[Sedric Meldar]], Carson is not initially a dragon keeper. He starts out as one of the three hunters accompanying the [[keepers]] and [[dragons]]. Eventually, after the dragon [[Kalo]] discards [[Greft]] he becomes keeper for the dragon [[spit]].
Carson's nephew is [[Davvie]], who has accompanied him on the Tarman expedition as a hunter.
