First published in 1983, it was not the first story set in that worldpublished novel of [[Megan Lindholm]]. The She had previously published two short stories , [[Bones for Dulath]] (AMAZONS! 1979) and [[The Small One]] (Fantastic Stories Vol.27, #11. 1980) were published previously but chronologically , set in the same world. Chronologically Harpy's Flight is the first story of the adventures of ''Ki'' and ''Vandien''.
