'''Cat's Meat''' is a short story that takes place near the town of [[Cogsbay]] in the [[Buck]] Duchy. It describes the events of a few days during some unknown spring in the lives of [[Rosemary]], her child [[Gillam]] and [[Marmalade]], the cat that lives with them. Chronologically it precedes [[Assassin's Apprentice]].
