I have read, and re-read, and am currently re-reading again, the Robin Hobb novels set in the world of Fitzchivalry and his wolf. These novels are so beautifully and powerfully written, and the depth of emotion Robin Hobbs captures for her characters is one of the aspects of her writing that draws me in over and over again. And I weep, over and over again.

The magic part of the stories, the element that makes these books part of the genre of fantasy, is used and described "believably", making this world so real to me
