Cult of the Bastard

Another name for the Piebalds, stemming from the fact that they claimed that all the Kings since the Abdication of Chivalry had been pretenders and that FitzChivalry should have been the next King despite his bastard blood. They also told legends of the "True-Hearted Bastard" based on rumours about his rising from the grave to help Verity that raised Fitz to the status of near-deity.

Due to the fact that the Piebalds wanted political power, it can be surmised that they were using FitzChivalry's name and story as a way to destabilize the current monarchy, not as a means of supporting the memory of Fitz.
