Lavoy
Lavoy is first mate aboard Paragon during the attempt to rescue the liveship Vivacia.
He is known around Bingtown as a competent sailor that hasn't had an opportunity to be mate because of his poor attitude. Aboard Paragon, he is subversive of Brashen Trell's role as captain and seeks to garner support for himself in a mutiny. Instead of mixing the crew and fostering a team environment, Lavoy keeps the groups of sailors separate, influencing how they think. He is the one to suggest they playact as pirates to blend in and gain information.
He also endeavors to keep on Paragon's good side and sway the liveship's feelings towards himself rather than Brashen. Overall, Lavoy believes they are on a fool's errand and that they'd be better off keeping the ship and sailing off to be pirates permanently.
When Paragon reaches Divvytown, Lavoy ends up stabbing Brashen and jumping overboard, along with some of the crew he managed to turn to his side. He tells the pirates that Brashen and Althea were trying to get information on Kennit and Vivacia. Sincure Faldin is the one to send the note containing that information to Kennit.
