Piebald Rebellion
The Piebald Rebellion was the long-term plan of the Piebalds. The aim was to have the Witted folk rise up against the monarchy, in order to end the persecution of Old Blood. However, the Piebald's motives could also be seen as using that altruistic reason as cover for their own goal of gaining more political power.
Plots
The major plan was to use the Cat, which hosted Peladine's soul, to lure Prince Dutiful away from Buckkeep. Breaking down the barriers between the Prince and the Cat would allow Peladine to take over Dutiful's body.
The Piebalds, led by Laudwine, blackmailed and threatened the Bresinga family in order to gain access to the royal court. Lady Bresinga was forced to gift the Cat to Dutiful and make her son, Civil, stay and befriend the Prince. As Dutiful bonded with the Cat, he was lured out of the castle and was persuaded to run away to Galeton by the spirit of Peladine. Galeton had been taken over by the Piebalds, and he was kidnapped from there.
Fitz, disguised as Tom Badgerlock, The Fool, disguised as Lord Golden, and Laurel chase after Dutiful, to rescue him.
